Yamaha XMAX 300 2017-2021 Service Manual: Blue Core Single, CVT and ABS Scooter Repair Guide
Yamaha introduced the XMAX 300 in 2017 as a bigger, more capable step up from the smaller XMAX range, aimed at riders who wanted a commuter that could also handle the open road. Euro 5 became mandatory from January 2021, and Yamaha claimed the updated model cut fuel consumption by around 6%.
Power comes from a 292cc liquid-cooled, four-valve, single-cylinder engine with a 70mm bore and a 10.9:1 compression ratio. It makes about 28 hp at 7,250 rpm and 29 Nm of torque at 5,750 rpm, with fuel injection and a belt-driven automatic CVT sending the power to the rear wheel.
The chassis uses a telescopic fork and a unit-swing rear, on a 15-inch front wheel and a 14-inch rear. Braking is by a 267mm front disc and a 245mm rear disc with ABS. The 13-litre tank gives it useful touring range, and the underseat storage is big enough for helmets.
