GTI/GTX/RXP/RXT 4-TEC (2007): One Engine Platform, Three Distinct States of Tune

The 2007 4-TEC lineup spans a genuinely wide range of Sea-Doo's Rotax-powered watercraft, all built around the same fundamental 1503 four-stroke engine architecture but tuned very differently depending on which model wears it. BoatTEST's own review of the flagship RXP doesn't undersell the top-of-the-range output: "if having the most horsepower on the water is what you desire in a PWC, you must take a closer look at this new musclecraft from Sea-Doo... equipped with 215-horses, sports a new extreme design, and is loaded with extras."

Power across this range comes from the Rotax 1503 (1,494cc) four-stroke inline engine, offered in three distinct configurations documented in Sea-Doo's own 2007 factory service literature: a 130 hp naturally aspirated tune (found on the GTI and entry-level GTX models), a 155 hp naturally aspirated tune (stepping up through the GTX Limited and GTX WAKE), and a supercharged, intercooled configuration delivering the RXP and RXT's genuinely potent 215 hp. All three share the same fundamental block and Sea-Doo Direct Drive propulsion system feeding a composite/aluminum axial jet pump with a stainless steel impeller, run through digital inductive ignition and electric start.

Sea-Doo's own 2007 GTX literature details the touring-oriented equipment carried across the naturally aspirated range: an 18-function Information Center with speedometer, tachometer, and fuel gauge, Sea-Doo Learning Key (LK1/LK2) speed-limiting technology, new wide handlebars with double-density comfort grips, a watertight removable storage bin, and new touring seats — genuine comfort and convenience upgrades layered onto the proven 4-TEC platform. The performance-focused RXP and RXT, by contrast, prioritize the supercharged intercooled powerplant and sportier hull geometry over the GTX's touring amenities, giving Sea-Doo's 2007 range genuinely distinct machines built around shared mechanical DNA. Because this range covers three different states of engine tune under one shared architecture, confirming the exact model and horsepower rating against the hull ID plate remains essential before relying on any single torque spec or procedure.

This factory service manual covers the procedures, torque specs, fluid capacities, and diagrams needed to keep a 2007 GTI/GTX/RXP/RXT 4-TEC running the way it was built to, across every engine configuration in the range.
