Power comes from an all-new Unit Construction Engine (UCE), a 499cc air-cooled single that retains the classic 84mm bore and 90mm stroke of the old pre-unit Electra — and, crucially, the same heavy crank — while finally integrating the gearbox and crankcase into one casting, engineering Royal Enfield's own materials describe as delivering fewer moving parts and genuinely easier maintenance. A single 280mm front disc and 240mm rear disc handled braking, with some later variants adding dual-channel ABS.
