RZR Pro XP/Pro XP 4 (2020-2023): A Genuine Replacement Trim in 2022 — "Eight Percent More Horsepower and Two Inches of Increased Suspension Travel"
Polaris's own 2022 announcement confirms a real lineup shake-up that year: the RZR Pro XP Sport replaced the RZR XP Turbo entirely, "offering customers a significant value increase with added power, performance, styling and strength" — eight percent more horsepower and two inches of increased suspension travel over the model it replaced, backed by a strengthened transmission, front drive axles, and a more adjustable cockpit. Polaris's own Vice President of RZR, Reid Wilson, called it "a more powerful, turbocharged entry point to the Multi-Terrain lineup."
Power comes from the ProStar, a 925cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin, DOHC with 8 valves, turbocharged, delivering a claimed 181 hp through a Polaris Variable Transmission (PVT) with Hi/Low range and reverse, feeding Polaris's Isolated Xtreme Performance True On-Demand AWD/2WD system — genuinely the same fundamental engine across this whole range, with the 2022 Sport trim specifically benefiting from a retuned chassis rather than a different powerplant.
An in-dash charge port arrived for 2022 across the range for more streamlined battery servicing, with Premium and Ultimate trims gaining new door inserts for improved comfort and protection. 2023 brought further real refinement: the Premium trim gained a PMX head unit by Rockford Fosgate for genuinely upgraded audio, and Polaris introduced Ride Tracking+, letting riders automatically log GPS-based ride data — distance, waypoints, elevation changes — without needing a connected phone.
The range-topping Ultimate trim runs Polaris's DYNAMIX 2.0 Active Suspension System with FOX 2.5 Podium Live Valve shocks offering electronically controlled, bottom-out-managed damping, paired with a 7-inch Ride Command glove-touch display showing a dedicated DYNAMIX 2.0 visualizer alongside GPS, group-ride functionality, and Rockford Fosgate premium audio. The Sport trim runs simpler 2-inch FOX shocks with Position Sensitive Spiral Technology and QS3 compression adjusters instead. Confirmed dimensions across the range list a 125-inch wheelbase (four-seat), 17 inches of front wheel travel and 20 inches at the rear, a 13-gallon fuel tank, and Maxxis Carnivore 30x10-14 tires. 2022 Sport trim pricing started at $21,999.
This factory service manual covers the procedures, torque specs, and diagrams needed to keep a 2020-2023 RZR Pro XP/Pro XP 4 running the way it was built to.
