RZR Pro R/Pro R 4 (2022-2025): 225 Horsepower From a Genuinely New Four-Cylinder — The First True ProStar Four in Polaris's Lineup
Power comes from the ProStar, a 1,997cc liquid-cooled inline-four, DOHC with 16 valves (4 per cylinder), a 93mm bore and 74.5mm stroke, and a 12.5:1 compression ratio, delivering a claimed 225 hp through a Polaris Variable Transmission (PVT) with Hi/Low range and reverse, feeding a selectable 4x2/4x4 driveline with a standard rear differential lock and a center limited-slip differential — genuinely the most powerful factory engine Polaris has put in a production RZR, a real step beyond the twin-cylinder architecture used across the rest of the range.
Standard equipment includes rack-mounted, high-assist electronic power steering with a quick-turn rack, a race-inspired steering wheel with tilt and telescoping adjustment, and on the range-topping Ultimate trim, Polaris's DYNAMIX DV semi-active suspension with integrated EPS modes and Ride Command push-button controls. Confirmed dimensions list a 165.5-inch overall length, 74-inch width, 76.5-inch height, 16 inches of ground clearance, a 900-lb payload capacity, and a 12.3-gallon fuel tank, riding on Maxxis Rampage Fury 32x10-15 tires at all four corners.
The Pro R 4 stretches to a 133.5-inch wheelbase for genuine four-seat capacity, with braking handled by 4-wheel hydraulic discs using triple-bore front and dual-bore rear calipers on aluminum top-hat rotors. Dry weight ranges from roughly 2,144 lbs on the two-seat Premium trim up to 2,578 lbs on the loaded four-seat Ultimate, which adds a factory-tuned Rockford Fosgate Stage 4 audio system, a painted aluminum roof, front and rear full doors, and a 1,700-watt high-output charging system.
Trim levels span Sport, Premium, and Ultimate across both two- and four-seat configurations, with 2024 US pricing starting at $37,499 for the Premium and $40,999 for the range-topping Ultimate. This exact 1,997cc engine and chassis platform has carried consistently across every model year since the 2022 launch.
