V7 III Anniversario (2017): The Numbered Chrome-Tank Special Marking 50 Years of the V7

Moto Guzzi launched the V7 III in 2017 to celebrate 50 years since the first V7 in 1967, and added a fourth model to the Stone, Special and Racer: the Anniversario, a numbered limited edition. It's based on the Special and has a chrome tank, a brown stitched-leather saddle, a V750 badge and a gold engraving of the Moto Guzzi eagle. It also has chrome aluminium bodywork and polished rims on spoked wheels. Each bike's serial number is etched into a billet aluminium handlebar mount. The UK received just 50 of the run, and Australia 20.

Power comes from the third-generation 744cc air-cooled 90-degree V-twin, with its cylinder heads reworked for about 10 percent more power than the V7 II. It makes a claimed 52 hp at 6,200 rpm and meets Euro 4. The engine keeps its traditional pushrod layout and shaft final drive. Riders get two-channel ABS, the MGCT traction control and an Eco Ride function.

The chassis uses the same double-cradle steel frame as before, with a revamped and reinforced front end, steeper steering geometry and new preload-adjustable Kayaba shocks. The footrests are lower and further forward than on the V7 II, and the brown seat is lower. Wheel travel is 93mm at the rear. The 18-inch front wheel takes a 100/90 tire, and the 17-inch rear takes a 130/80. Weight distribution is 46 percent front and 54 percent rear.

Confirmed figures list a dry weight of about 193 kg and a kerb weight of about 213 kg with fuel. UK pricing for the Anniversario was about £9,000 against £8,002 for the Stone and £8,702 for the Special. The chrome tank adds weight compared with the other V7 III models.

This factory service manual covers the procedures, torque specs, and diagrams needed to keep a 2017 V7 III Anniversario running the way it was built to.
