V7 II Racer (2014-2016): The Limited-Edition Café Racer with a 22-Litre Chrome Tank and Bitubo Shocks

Moto Guzzi describes the V7 II Racer as the version that embodies the brand's sporting spirit, with a sporty set-up, low handlebars and a chromium fuel tank with a leather fastening strap. It's a bike "born to be ridden strictly one-up, in black leathers". A plate on the upper steering yoke marks it as a limited edition. The Racer follows the first-generation V7 Racer, which debuted in 2011 as a limited run of 150 bikes. The total-black look on the side panels, mirrors, silencer brackets and footpeg guards contrasts with the bright 22-litre chrome tank, which includes a 4-litre reserve.

The Racer has the V7 II's underlying upgrades: a new six-speed gearbox, Continental two-channel ABS and MGCT traction control. The engine is also tilted forward and lowered in a modified frame, and the shaft-drive output was lowered 50mm to improve stability and rear suspension performance. Power comes from the air-cooled 744cc 90-degree V-twin, with pushrod-operated overhead valves and two valves per cylinder. It makes about 50 hp and 60 Nm of torque, with shaft final drive.

What sets the Racer apart is premium hardware. It has rear-set footpegs machined from solid billet, a lightened steering stem and a steering-yoke guard made from a double chromed ring. Rear suspension is a pair of Bitubo WMY01 shocks adjustable for spring preload, extension and compression, with a 12-click knob. The wheels are spoked with lightweight alloy rim channels finished in black. The single seat is covered in Alcantara and Skai to match the leather tank strap, and a two-up saddle and passenger footpegs are available on request.

Confirmed figures list a 790mm (31.1-inch) seat height, 5mm lower than the 2014 bike's 805mm, and a wet weight of about 190 kg (419 lbs). UK pricing for the Racer was £8,534.

This factory service manual covers the procedures, torque specs, and diagrams needed to keep a 2015-2016 V7 II Racer running the way it was built to.
