Nevada Classic 750 i.e. (2004-2013): The "Little California" with Fuel Injection and 87 Percent New Parts

Moto Guzzi relaunched the Nevada for 2004 as the Nevada Classic 750 i.e. Despite its familiar name and look, testers called it essentially a new bike, based more on the previous year's Breva 750 than on the old Nevada. Compared with the carbureted model, 383 of its 441 components, 87 percent, were redesigned or renewed, including the whole rear section, the seat, the wheels and the tank. It was the only entry-level custom with shaft drive and electronic injection. Styling echoes the larger California, with flowing tank lines, a stepped seat and slightly forward-mounted footpegs. A Nevada 750 Touring version added hard panniers, a passenger backrest, a touring screen and a centre stand.

Power comes from the air-cooled 744cc 90-degree transverse V-twin, with pushrod-operated overhead valves, two valves per cylinder, an 80mm x 74mm bore and stroke and a 9.6:1 compression ratio. Fuel comes from Weber-Marelli injection with Magneti Marelli digital ignition, and the exhaust has a three-way catalytic converter and lambda sensor. The 2004 bike made about 46 hp at 6,600 rpm and 57 Nm (42 lb-ft) at 3,600 rpm, and later years about 48-49 hp at 6,800 rpm and 55 Nm. It has a 5-speed gearbox with a single dry-disc clutch and shaft final drive. The 2004 range met Euro 2, and the later bikes met Euro 3, helped by a new ECU map in 2010.

The chassis is a detachable duplex steel cradle frame, with a 320mm front disc after later updates. Seat height is just 760-770mm, and dry weight is about 176-184 kg (388-406 lbs). The tank holds 14 litres. Tires are a 110/90-18 front and a 130/90 rear, and the Italian price was €7,860 in 2010, with pearl white, black and brown colours.

This factory service manual covers the procedures, torque specs, and diagrams needed to keep a 2004-2013 Moto Guzzi Nevada 750 Classic running the way it was built to.
