KTM 500 EXC-F (2025-2026): The Big-Bore Enduro with a 510cc Single

The 500 EXC-F is KTM’s largest enduro four-stroke, built for riders who want championship-level off-road performance with road-legal capability, from tight single trails to wide-open desert. Dealers describe it as massive torque, smooth throttle response and impressive rideability, and it has selectable engine maps. KTM lists it as a different machine from the 450 EXC-F, with its own engine, though the two share the same chassis and suspension.

The engine is a 510.9cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder four-stroke with a 72mm bore, a 95mm stroke and a compression ratio of about 12.75:1. Keihin fuel injection feeds it through a 42mm throttle body, with Keihin engine management. The gearbox is a 6-speed with a wet DDS multi-disc clutch with Brembo hydraulics and a 29:72 primary drive, and final drive is a 520 X-ring chain.

The frame is a central double-cradle steel frame in 25CrMo4 chromoly with an aluminium-reinforced polyamide rear subframe. Suspension is a 48mm WP XACT inverted fork with 300mm of travel and compression and rebound adjustment, and a WP XPLOR shock with PDS, with 310mm of travel and compression, rebound and preload adjustment. There are disc brakes at both ends.

Confirmed figures list a 963mm seat height, 347mm of ground clearance and an 8.5-litre (2.25-gallon) tank. Weight without fuel is listed as about 108 kg, with figures of 108.4 kg for 2025 and 108.2 kg for 2026.

This factory service manual covers the procedures, torque specs, and diagrams needed to keep a KTM 500 EXC-F running the way it was built to.
