KTM 450 XCF-W (2025-2026): The Four-Stroke Flagship of KTM’s XC-W Off-Road Range

The 450 XCF-W is the only four-stroke in KTM’s XC-W line-up, which for 2026 also includes the 150, 250 and 300 XC-W two-strokes. It’s built for off-road riding and racing rather than for the street, and it shares its platform with KTM’s 450 EXC-F, the road-legal enduro version covered in a separate manual. For 2026 the XC-W range gets refreshed graphics and suspension updates, with new damping settings, lighter and shorter springs and a reworked pressure reservoir. A new one-piece hydro stop on the fork saves about 200 grams. There’s also a protection cap on the CPC fuel connector to keep out dirt and water, a new radiator cap with a standard thread and Dunlop Geomax AT82 tires.

Power comes from a 450cc liquid-cooled, fuel-injected single-cylinder four-stroke with electric start. The XC-W range uses a wet DDS multi-disc clutch with Brembo hydraulics, and the EXC-F version uses a 6-speed gearbox, a 42mm Keihin throttle body and a 520 X-ring chain. Check your bike’s documentation for the XCF-W’s own figures.

The chassis is KTM’s central double-cradle steel frame in 25CrMo4 chromoly with an aluminium-reinforced polyamide subframe, and the suspension is WP, with a 48mm XACT fork. Confirmed figures list a fuel tank of about 8.5 litres (2.25 US gallons).
