KTM 450 EXC-F (2025-2026): The Open-Class Enduro Bike with Race-Derived Power and Tool-Free Suspension
KTM describes the 2025 450 EXC-F as rolling into the open class with a renewed appetite for finding the limit. It carries engineering developed on the race track, and KTM says it suits longer rides with smooth, powerful engine characteristics. For 2025 the whole EXC range got new, easy-to-use switchgear, and the EXC-F range has tool-free suspension adjustment at both ends. A map select switch, an optional extra, lets the rider choose between two engine maps, and an optional quickshifter works from second to sixth gear. The 2026 bike carries the same core specification.
The engine is a 449.9cc single-cylinder four-stroke with Keihin fuel injection (a 42mm throttle body) and Keihin engine management. It has electric start and a 6-speed gearbox, with a wet DDS multi-disc clutch with Brembo hydraulics and a 29:72 primary drive. Final drive is a 520 X-ring chain. The exhaust is designed for hard-hitting performance at the lowest possible weight.
The frame is a central double-cradle steel frame in 25CrMo4 chromoly, with an aluminium-reinforced polyamide rear subframe. Suspension is a 48mm WP XACT inverted fork with 300mm of travel and compression and rebound adjustment, and a WP XPLOR shock with PDS, with 310mm of travel and compression, rebound and preload adjustment. There are disc brakes at both ends.
Confirmed figures list a 963mm seat height, 347mm of ground clearance, an 8.5-litre (2.25-gallon) tank and a weight of 107.2 kg without fuel.
This factory service manual covers the procedures, torque specs, and diagrams needed to keep a KTM 450 EXC-F running the way it was built to.
