Teryx4 LE 800 (2016-2020): Standard EPS, Fresh Styling, Same Torquey V-Twin

UTV Guide's own retrospective marks 2016 as the Teryx4's next meaningful update after the major 2014 overhaul: a more aggressive front-end design, a revised dashboard tilted toward the driver, tilt steering with a thicker wheel, and tool-free driver-seat adjustment for easier ergonomics. Electric Power Steering became standard across the line that year, and — per this same source — most annual changes from 2016 through 2020 involved colors, graphics, and trim packages rather than further mechanical development, meaning this generation held a genuinely stable core platform across its run.

Power carries over from the significant 2014 redesign: a liquid-cooled 783cc SOHC 90-degree V-twin, Brute Force 750-derived with a 3mm-longer stroke bumping displacement up, fed through dual 36mm Mikuni EFI throttle bodies with four-valve Hemi heads. Dirt Wheels Magazine's testing at Moab found a claimed 47 lb-ft of torque at 5,500 rpm genuinely capable of climbing the steepest trail sections with little effort, delivered through a dual-range CVT with reverse and a belt-protecting centrifugal clutch. Kawasaki limits top speed to 50 mph in high range, 30 mph in low.

The LE-specific 2016 update swapped the previous tilt hood for more aggressive fenders and a removable hood panel for airbox and battery access, plus a new replaceable fender brace required to support quad LED headlights with separate high/low toggles — 20.4 watts high-beam, 10.2 watts low-beam — a genuine upgrade over the base EPS model's 35-watt halogen units. New 14-inch cast aluminum wheels arrived for extra style, paired with some of the largest tires in the side-by-side category for the class. Fox Podium 2.0 piggyback shocks received revised valving for optimized ride quality, still offering 8 inches of front and 8.3 inches of rear travel with adjustable preload and 24-position compression damping. UTV Action's testing consistently praised the double-X frame's 79-degree approach angle and short wheelbase for tight-trail agility, while a rear transfer case with new bevel gears and a multi-disc wet-pack rear brake with manual parking brake rounded out the drivetrain. Curb weight for the LE trim runs around 1,587 lbs, with a 7.9-gallon tank and 1,300 lb towing capacity.
