Brute Force 300 (2011-2018): Kawasaki's Entry-Level Utility Quad on the Same CVT as the Brute Force 750

Autoevolution describes it as a versatile ATV that combines fun, practicality, performance and value. Its engine is tuned for lower-rpm power and mated to a CVT based on the same unit the flagship Brute Force 750 uses. The bodywork is also very similar to its bigger sibling. It is the entry model in a range that Kawasaki's Brute Force line started in 2008.

Power comes from a 271cc liquid-cooled SOHC single-cylinder four-stroke with a 72.7-74mm bore and 65.2-66mm stroke and an 11.0:1 compression ratio. Claimed output is about 22 hp (16 kW) at 7,500 rpm and 22 Nm (16 lb-ft) at 6,500 rpm. Fuel comes from a Keihin 32mm carburetor on most bikes in the range. Drive is a CVT with a Hi/Low range and reverse, through a 2WD shaft final drive. A snorkel air intake is standard.

The chassis is a double-cradle steel frame with double-wishbone front suspension (5.2 inches of travel) and a swingarm rear (5.6 inches). Braking is dual front discs and a single rear disc. Tires are Maxxis 22x7-10 front and 22x10-10 rear. Confirmed figures list a 75.4-inch length, a 42.5-inch width, a 45.8-45.9-inch wheelbase, a 33.3-inch seat height, 6.1 inches of ground clearance and a 3.2-gallon (12.1-litre) tank. Weight is about 500-534 lbs, with a 500-lb towing capacity and standard front and rear racks. US pricing was $4,299 in 2015 and 2018.

This factory service manual covers the procedures, torque specs, and diagrams needed to keep a 2012-2018 Brute Force 300 running the way it was built to.
