Indian Sport Scout 1250 2025 Service Manual

The Sport Scout is a new nameplate for 2025 in Indian’s all-new Scout line, and it sits in the sweet spot of the range as the sportier, more aggressive-looking Scout. It runs the same SpeedPlus 1250 engine and redesigned steel tube frame as the other Scouts, but adds gloss black 6-inch Moto Style risers with machined highlights, machined triple clamps and Moto handlebars for a menacing style and dialed ergonomics. A larger eight-spoke cast wheel is mainly what separates it from the other Scouts. The Standard trim starts at $13,499 in Black Metallic and has LED lighting, ABS and an analog gauge. The Limited ($14,199, in Black Metallic, Black Smoke, Storm Blue or Nara Bronze Metallic) and Limited + Tech (about $15,199) add ride modes, traction control, cruise control, a USB charge port and digital gauges.

The engine is a 1,250cc liquid-cooled 60-degree V-twin, DOHC with four valves per cylinder, with a 104mm bore, a 73.6mm stroke and a 12.5:1 compression ratio. Closed-loop electronic fuel injection with a 63mm throttle body feeds it. Claimed power is 105 hp at 7,250 rpm and torque is 82 lb-ft at 6,300 rpm. The transmission is a 6-speed with a gear-driven primary and a wet multi-plate clutch, with a 2.276:1 final drive, and the engine recommends 91-octane fuel.

The Sport Scout has a 41mm telescopic fork with 4.7 inches (120mm) of travel and dual shocks with preload adjustment and 3.0 inches (76mm) of travel. The rear wheel is a cast eight-spoke 16 x 3.5-inch with a Metzeler Cruisetec 150/80B16 72H tire, and the rear brake is a single 298mm semi-floating rotor with a single-piston caliper. Rake is 29 degrees with 4.7 inches (120mm) of trail, the wheelbase is 61.5 inches (1,562mm), and the lean angle is 33 degrees.

The bike is 86.9 inches (2,206mm) long, 37.6 inches (956mm) wide and 45.5 inches (1,155mm) high, with 4.4 inches (113mm) of ground clearance. Seat height is 25.7 inches (654mm) laden and 26.8 inches (680mm) unladen. The tank holds 3.4 gallons (13 litres), and the gross vehicle weight rating is 988 lbs. Dry weight is 528 lbs (239 kg), and weight in running order is 548 lbs (248 kg).
