Indian Scout Classic 1250 (2025): The Chrome-Styled Wire-Wheel Scout with the Lowest Seat in the Lineup
The Scout Classic is the timeless, chrome-styled member of Indian’s all-new 2025 Scout line. It houses the new SpeedPlus 1250 engine in a classic package with a chrome-plated front fork, a lot of chrome, and 16-inch 40-spoke wire wheels at the front and the rear. Indian says it has the lowest seat height in its lineup, with 3 inches of suspension travel and relaxed ergonomics for an easy, confident ride at every speed, whether commuting or going on a weekend trip. The Classic starts at $13,999 in Black Metallic, and the Classic Limited at $14,699 adds more tech and a wider color range.
The engine is the all-new 1,250cc liquid-cooled 60-degree V-twin, DOHC with four valves per cylinder and semi-dry-sump lubrication. Bore and stroke are 104mm x 73.6mm, with a 12.5:1 compression ratio and closed-loop electronic fuel injection. Claimed power is 105 hp at 7,250 rpm and torque is 111 Nm (82 lb-ft) at 6,300 rpm. The transmission is a 6-speed with a wet multi-plate clutch and belt final drive.
The front suspension is a 41mm telescopic fork with 4.7 inches (120mm) of travel, and the rear has two side-mounted shocks with 3.0 inches (76mm) of travel that keep a classic look. The wheels wear Pirelli Night Dragon tires, a 130/90B16 67H at the front and a 150/80B16 77H at the rear. The front brake is a single 298mm semi-floating disc with a two-piston caliper, and the rear is a single 298mm disc with a single-piston caliper. Rake is 29 degrees with 4.8 inches (122mm) of trail on a 61.5-inch (1,562mm) wheelbase.
The Classic is about 91.3 inches (2,319mm) long, 36.1 inches (917mm) wide and 43.1 inches (1,095mm) high, with 4.4 inches (112mm) of ground clearance. Seat height is 25.7 inches (654mm) laden and 26.8 inches (680mm) unladen. The tank holds 3.4 gallons (13 litres), dry weight is about 536 lbs (244 kg), and weight in running order is about 553 lbs.
