Indian Scout Bobber 1250 (2025): The Slammed, Blacked-Out Scout with Chopped Fenders

The Scout Bobber is the entry point into Indian’s all-new 2025 Scout line, starting at $12,999. It’s blacked out front to back, with chopped bobber fenders and a headlight nacelle that lean hard into a mean bobber look. A solo bobber-style seat keeps the minimalist look without giving up comfort, and slammed 2-inch rear suspension creates a lower seat height while keeping an aggressive, custom stance. The 16-inch wheels and wide-sidewall tires add to the styling without sacrificing performance. It has the low bars of a bobber and more than 100 customization options from Indian’s accessory catalog.

The engine is the all-new SpeedPlus 1250, a 1,250cc liquid-cooled 60-degree V-twin, DOHC with four valves per cylinder. Bore and stroke are 104mm x 73.6mm, with a 12.5:1 compression ratio, and closed-loop electronic fuel injection with a 63mm throttle body feeds it. Claimed power is 105 hp and torque is about 82 lb-ft at 6,300 rpm. The transmission is a 6-speed with a gear-driven primary, a wet multi-plate clutch and a 2.276:1 final drive, with overall ratios running from 10.549:1 in first to 3.680:1 in sixth.

The chassis is a steel tube frame with a 41mm telescopic fork with 4.7 inches (120mm) of travel and dual rear shocks with 2.0 inches (50mm) of travel. Rake is 29.4 degrees with 4.9 inches (125mm) of trail on a 61.5-inch (1,562mm) wheelbase, and lean angle is 31 degrees. The Bobber is 86.9 inches (2,206mm) long, 36.6 inches (930mm) wide and 42.2 inches (1,071mm) high, with 4.3 inches (109mm) of ground clearance.

Seat height is 25.6 inches (649mm) laden and 26.2 inches (665mm) unladen. The tank holds 3.4 gallons (13 litres), and the gross vehicle weight rating is 988 lbs (449 kg). The Bobber is the lightest Scout in the line, at 522 lbs (237 kg) dry and 542 lbs (246 kg) in running order.

This factory service manual covers the procedures, torque specs, and diagrams needed to keep an Indian Scout Bobber 1250 running the way it was built to.
