Indian 101 Scout 1250 (2025): The Top-of-the-Line Scout with 111 Horsepower, Brembo Brakes and Adjustable Suspension
The 101 Scout revives one of the most revered Indian nameplates and sits at the top of the all-new 2025 Scout line at $16,999. It’s the highest-performing Scout Indian has built, with 111 hp from a special electronic tune of the SpeedPlus 1250 engine. Indian describes it as “packed with premium components”: adjustable piggyback rear shocks, an adjustable inverted front fork and dual Brembo disc brakes, which testers say fix the sometimes-harsh ride of the standard Scouts’ shocks. It has 101 Scout badging, intricate seat stitching and exclusive paint and graphics, in Sunset Red Metallic or Ghost White Metallic, and a 4-inch display powered by RIDE COMMAND with the RIDE COMMAND+ telecommunications unit.
The engine is a 1,250cc liquid-cooled 60-degree V-twin, DOHC with four valves per cylinder, with a 104mm bore, a 73.6mm stroke and a 12.5:1 compression ratio. Closed-loop electronic fuel injection with a 63mm throttle body feeds it. The 101’s exclusive tune makes a claimed 111 hp at 7,250 rpm (the other Scouts make 105 hp), with 82 lb-ft of torque at 6,300 rpm. The transmission is a 6-speed with a gear-driven primary, a wet multi-plate clutch and a 2.276:1 final drive. ABS, ride modes, traction control and cruise control are included.
The front suspension is a fully adjustable 43mm inverted cartridge fork with about 5.9 inches of travel, and the rear has dual fully adjustable piggyback-reservoir shocks with 3.0 inches of travel. The front brakes are dual 320mm semi-floating rotors with four-piston radial-mount Brembo calipers. The wheels are 5-spoke cast, a 19-inch front with a Metzeler Cruisetec 130/60B19 61H tire and a 16-inch rear with a 150/80B16 77H tire.
Seat height is 25.7 inches (654mm) laden and 26.8 inches (680mm) unladen, with 4.4 inches (113mm) of ground clearance. The tank holds 3.4 gallons (13 litres), and the gross vehicle weight rating is 988 lbs (449 kg). The 101 Scout is claimed at about 529 lbs (240 kg) as shipped and weighs about 549 lbs in running order.
This factory service manual covers the procedures, torque specs, and diagrams needed to keep an Indian 101 Scout 1250 running the way it was built to.
