TE 250 (2024): The All-New TBI Two-Stroke with the Redesigned Enduro Chassis

For 2024 Husqvarna “wiped the slate clean” and introduced an all-new TE 250. Testers called its counterbalanced throttle-body-injection engine a significant upgrade from the previous TPI bike. With TBI, one tester said it now has plenty of power, where before the 300 had felt like the better choice. The chassis is completely updated, similar to what the motocross and cross-country models received the year before, with a new chromium-molybdenum steel frame, a hybrid subframe, forged aluminium cylinder head mounts and Braktec brakes and hydraulic clutch. Testers found it more responsive, with improved maneuverability, and one logged more than 20 hours with no ergonomic complaints.

Power comes from a 249cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder two-stroke with a 66.4mm x 72mm bore and stroke. It uses throttle body injection with Keihin engine management and a counterbalance shaft, and like the TE 150 and TE 300 it is oil-injected, so there’s no premixing. The gearbox is a 6-speed, and the TE 250 has electric start.

Suspension is a WP Xact 48mm closed-cartridge coil-spring fork, which gives the TE 250 a racier feel than the old fork, and a WP monoshock. Wheels are a 21-inch front and an 18-inch rear. Confirmed figures list a dry weight of about 107 kg without fuel, and the TE 250 shares its frame, brakes and 8.5-litre tank layout with the TE 300, so most chassis parts match across the two.
