CTX700N (2014-2018): The Naked Version of Honda’s Comfort-First Cruiser
The CTX700N is the unfaired version of the CTX700. It drops the fairing and windscreen for a cleaner, lighter-looking, upright naked style, and is aimed at newer riders and commuters. It came with a 6-speed manual gearbox, or with Honda’s dual-clutch automatic (CTX700ND) and ABS. In 2014 the manual bike came in Candy Red or Black, and the DCT bike in Black. Honda rated fuel economy at about 64 mpg for the manual and 61 mpg for the DCT. The DCT/ABS version listed from $7,999 in 2014 and $7,699 in 2018.
Power comes from a 670cc liquid-cooled SOHC parallel-twin, with four valves per cylinder, a 73mm x 80mm bore and stroke and a 10.7:1 compression ratio, fed by 36mm fuel injection. The DCT is a second-generation six-speed unit that you can leave in automatic or shift with handlebar buttons, with no clutch lever. Final drive is by chain.
The chassis is a compact steel diamond frame with a low center of gravity. Brakes are a single 320mm front disc and a single 240mm rear disc, with ABS on the DCT bikes (standard across the later US range). Tires are a 120/70 ZR17 front and a 160/60 ZR17 rear. The tank holds about 3.27 gallons. Seat height is low, at about 28.3 inches, which makes the bike suit shorter riders.
Because the CTX700N and the faired CTX700 share their engine and gearbox, those parts interchange, but the bodywork, headlight and screen differ, so check the exact model code before ordering body parts.
This factory service manual covers the procedures, torque specs, and diagrams needed to keep a 2014-2018 Honda CTX700N running the way it was built to.
