Harley Davidson XL1200T Sportster SuperLow 2019 Service Manual

Harley launched the SuperLow 1200T in 2014 as a Sportster that packs full-on touring capability into a low-riding, easy-handling frame, and Harley's own pitch is that it turns a trip to the corner store into a cross-continent trek. The 2019 bike carries the same formula plus the recent improvements made across the Sportster range. A pair of sleek lockable saddlebags come standard, with docking points that make it easy to add a custom luggage rack and sissy bar. The seat is low, at about 705mm (27.8 inches) unladen, and the narrow frame and narrow-nosed seat make it easy to place in a turn. It strips down quickly for a cleaner look.

Power comes from the air-cooled 1,202cc Evolution V-twin, with a 88.9mm x 96.8mm (3.5 x 3.8-inch) bore and stroke and a 10:1 compression ratio, fed by Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection. It makes about 68 hp at 6,000 rpm and about 96 Nm (roughly 71 lb-ft) of torque at 3,500 rpm, with lightweight aluminium heads and cylinders to improve air-cooling efficiency. The exhaust is a chrome staggered shorty with dual mufflers.

The tank is a 4.5-gallon teardrop unit, bigger than the peanut tanks on the Iron and Forty-Eight, so it carries real range for long stretches between towns. Harley's own length figure is 2,210mm (87 inches). Because so many owners add racks, windshields and bag mounts to these bikes, confirm what a customer's example carries before ordering parts.
