Harley Davidson XL1200CX Sportster Roadster 2019 Service Manual

Harley's own pitch for the Roadster is a street-eating machine with tucked-in, fast-back styling and 1200cc of corner-cranking torque. It was the sportiest bike in the seven-model Sportster line when it launched, and the best-handling Sportster since the XR1200X. It has more available lean angle than the rest of the Sportster range, plus better suspension and brakes than its siblings. Styling is blacked out. The mirrors, belt guard and headlamp are black, the oval air cleaner has a black insert, the exhaust shields are slotted black and the powertrain is blacked out. The bike has lowered bars, a speedometer with a tachometer and a new seat design.

Power comes from the 1,202cc air-cooled Evolution V-twin, with a 88.9mm x 96.8mm (3.5 x 3.81-inch) bore and stroke and lightweight aluminium heads and cylinders. It makes about 67 hp (66 hp at the crank) and about 96 Nm (71 lb-ft) of torque. The gearbox is a 5-speed with belt final drive. Top speed is about 105 mph.

The chassis is a steel double-cradle frame with a 43mm inverted fork (4.4 inches of travel). The Roadster gets two 300mm front discs with two-piston calipers, where the other Sportsters of the time had a single front rotor. The front tire is a 120/70-19, and the wheels are the most elaborate cast rims Harley had made.

Confirmed figures list a 59.3-inch (1,505mm) wheelbase, an 86-inch length, a 33-inch width, a 30.9-inch (785mm) seat height and a 3.3-gallon (12.5-litre) tank. Weight is 551 lbs (250 kg) dry and 571 lbs (259 kg) fully loaded.
