Sportster 1200 Custom XL1200C (2019): The Chrome-and-Polish Sportster with the Big Tank

The 1200 Custom is the chrome-trimmed cruiser of the Sportster range. Reviewers describe it as a more rebellious evolution of the earlier XL1200C, with a few polished parts, some chrome and the emblematic 1200 engine. Unlike the peanut-tank Iron and Forty-Eight, it carries the larger 4.5-gallon tank, which gives it the range of the family. The bike was updated for 2019 over the 2018 model, with the long-running Evolution powertrain unchanged.

Power comes from the air-cooled 1,202cc Evolution V-twin, with a 88.9mm x 96.8mm (3.5 x 3.8-inch) bore and stroke and a 10:1 compression ratio, fed by Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection. It makes about 67-68 hp and about 96 Nm (roughly 71 lb-ft) of torque, with belt final drive. Fuel economy is rated at about 5.2 L/100 km, with a range of about 327 km (203 miles) from a tank, and indicated top speed is about 175 km/h (109 mph).
