Harley calls the 1200 Custom a true Sportster custom, just a little fatter and a little more custom than the other Sportsters, and says no one does fat custom like Harley-Davidson. The fat front tire on a 16-inch chrome 5-spoke cast wheel and the thick triple clamp give it a wide, in-your-face front end and nimble handling. It has a pull-back handlebar, a reshaped LED tail lamp, a 39mm fork with 30 degrees of rake and front suspension rates re-tuned for the tire and wheel, and a 2-up custom seat with a 26.5-inch laden seat height. H-D1 factory customization let buyers design their own bike. For 2013 there was a limited, serialized 110th Anniversary Edition, limited to 1,500 bikes, in Anniversary Vintage Bronze/Vintage Black, with bronze tank medallions, an air cleaner trim ring, a chrome timer cover with cloisonné and the Smart Security System. It listed at $11,699.

Power comes from the air-cooled 1,201cc Evolution V-twin, with an 88.9mm bore, a 96.8mm stroke and a 9.7:1 compression ratio, fed by Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection. Torque is about 79 lb-ft (108 Nm) at 3,250 rpm, and Harley lists fuel economy of about 48 mpg. The gearbox is a 5-speed with belt final drive.

Confirmed figures list 144mm (5.6 inches) of front wheel travel and 54mm (2.1 inches) of rear travel, with chrome 5-spoke cast wheels at both ends, 16 inches. Check the exact weight on your bike’s documentation.
