Pan America 1250 ST (2025-2026): Harley Trades Backcountry Ambition for Genuine Pavement Pace

Harley's own launch announcement for the ST framed the pitch precisely: it's designed to appeal to "riders ready to exchange a sport bike or streetfighter for an agile bike with more comfort and longer distance capability, but who don't desire the off-pavement capability of a fully equipped Adventure Touring motorcycle." Introduced for 2025 as Harley's first entry in the dedicated Adventure Sport segment, the ST narrows the Pan America platform's brief deliberately — less backcountry pretense, more genuine asphalt pace.

Power comes from the same Revolution Max 1250, a liquid-cooled 1,252cc 60-degree V-twin with DOHC, four valves per cylinder, and variable valve timing shared with the standard Pan America and Special, delivering a claimed 150 hp at 8,750-9,000 rpm and roughly 94 lb-ft of torque at 6,750 rpm through a 6-speed gearbox with an assist-and-slipper clutch. As on its siblings, the engine acts as a fully stressed chassis member — no traditional frame — trimming weight while adding genuine rigidity. New for the ST is a Screamin' Eagle Clutchless QuickShifter, letting riders shift up and down without touching the lever, alongside a slimmer, lighter overall profile than the standard Pan America.

The genuinely defining change is the wheel and suspension package: 17-inch wheels front and rear (down from the Pan America's larger off-road-oriented sizes) wrapped in Michelin Scorcher Sport high-performance street tires, paired with lowered, recalibrated suspension geometry tuned specifically for pavement handling rather than mixed-surface capability. An all-new one-piece seat — versus the standard bike's two-piece design — drops seat height to 31.7 inches unladen, easing reach to the ground at stops while still supporting an aggressive cornering position. A low, smoked windshield and street-style lower fender hugging the front tire give the ST a noticeably sleeker, more sport-touring-oriented silhouette than the adventure-styled Special, while dropping the handguards and side crash bars that signal genuine off-road intent on other Pan America trims. Braking comes from premium Brembo components, backed by Harley's full Rider Safety Enhancements suite including cornering-aware ABS and electronically linked brakes, displayed on a 6.8-inch color TFT touchscreen. 2025-2026 pricing started at $19,999, with color options including Dark Billiard Gray, Vivid Black, Aurora Blue Denim, and Brilliant Red depending on model year.
