Based on the same Softail chassis as the rest of the range, the Night Train sets itself apart by running leaner, lower, and more raked-out than its stablemates, all while sharing the same 96B V-twin platform under a modified chassis configuration.

Power comes from the vibration-isolation-mounted 1,584cc Twin Cam 96, a 45-degree V-twin with pushrod-operated overhead valves, hydraulic self-adjusting lifters, and 2 valves per cylinder, delivering a claimed 86.3-88 lb-ft of torque at 2,750-3,200 rpm through a 6-speed transmission with carbon fiber belt final drive. Front and rear tires run a distinctive MH90H-21 front against a fat 200/55VR-17 rear — a genuinely different profile than the 16-inch-front touring Softails sharing the same platform that year.

Styling stays deliberately dark and minimal throughout, in keeping with the Night Train name: blacked-out finishes across the powertrain, a raked front end, and a rear brake setup using a single disc with 2-piston torque-free calipers. Dimensions run 94.50 in. long and 30.90 in. wide, with a seat height of 26.8 inches and dry weight around 656 lbs. Harley backed the model with a 24-month unlimited-mileage warranty, with the first service interval at 1,000 miles and every 5,000 miles thereafter.
