Harley Davidson FXST FXSTI Softail Standard 2010 Service Manual

The Softail Standard is the original Softail formula. It has a raked-out fork, a bobtail rear fender and a hidden rear shock that gives the look of a rigid hardtail frame with real suspension underneath. In 2010 it sat in the Softail family next to the Softail Custom FXSTC, which shares the same 21-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel and tire sizes, so the two bikes are close mechanical relatives.

Power comes from the rigid-mounted, counter-balanced Twin Cam 96B, an air-cooled 1,584cc V-twin with pushrod-operated overhead valves and hydraulic self-adjusting lifters. It has a 95.3mm bore, 111.1mm stroke and 9.2:1 compression ratio, fed by Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection. Webike Japan lists torque at 110 Nm at 2,750 rpm. The gearbox is a 6-speed Cruise Drive with belt final drive, shared across the 2010 Softail range, which also got a new helical-cut fifth gear and a new fuel tank sender that year.

Confirmed parts data lists an MH90-21 front tire and a 200/55R17 rear, a 32-degree rake with 147mm of trail, an 18.9-litre (5-gallon) tank and 3.3 litres of engine oil.
