Fat Bob 114 (2018): The Launch Year's Step-Up Engine, "Take-No-Prisoners" by Design

Alongside the standard 107, Harley's all-new 2018 Fat Bob lineup offered this range-topping 114 for riders wanting genuinely more low-end shove. Dealer marketing for the launch didn't undersell the intent: "twenty-two pounds lighter, massive Milwaukee-Eight engine power, asphalt-eating traction, a pothole-devouring suspension, agile cornering, and a take-no-prisoners look" — built on the completely reworked Softail platform that absorbed the Dyna lineup that same year, timed to Harley's 115th Anniversary.

The Milwaukee-Eight 114 delivers a claimed 118 lb-ft of torque at 3,500 rpm, with a 4.016 in. bore and 4.5 in. stroke on a 10.5:1 compression ratio, run through a 6-speed gearbox with belt final drive and a 2-into-1-into-2 dual-side upswept exhaust. All-new inverted front forks deliver noticeably more precise handling than the outgoing generation, while dual disc brakes with 4-piston calipers keep the added torque genuinely in check.

Styling stays consistent with the 107 sibling: a bold hexagonal LED headlight, an asymmetrical tank graphic never seen on a Fat Bob before, and bold aluminum wheels wrapped in fat, aggressive-tread tires — 150/80-16 front and 180/70-16 rear. Dimensions run 92.1 in. long with a 27.7-inch laden seat height, carrying a 3.6-gallon tank.
