Cycle World's own testing pinned down exactly what set the Rocker C apart from its Rocker sibling: an industry-first "Trick" seat design that conceals a passenger pillion and struts entirely beneath the rider's solo seat cushion, popping out when needed and disappearing when it's not. Harley itself called the Rocker/Rocker C pairing "the most significant evolution of the Softail line since its inception in 1984," and the C-trim leaned into that ambition with the more elaborate finish of the two.

Power comes from the rigid-mounted, counter-balanced 1,584cc Twin Cam 96B, delivering a claimed 86.3 lb-ft of torque at 3,200 rpm through a 6-speed Cruise Drive transmission and belt final drive. Where the standard Rocker wore Satin Stainless Metallic powder-coat, the Rocker C swapped in brilliant chrome plating across the headlamp, triple clamps, handlebar riser, fork lowers, and tank console and speedometer, with a black powder-coated engine underneath the chrome covers. The cast-aluminum oil tank, frame, and swingarm carry color-matched paint instead, including subtle pinstriped flame treatments on deluxe colorways.

The chassis geometry is genuinely radical for a factory Harley: a steering head raked to 36.5 degrees, with the 49mm Showa fork's triple clamps adding another degree for an effective 37.5-degree fork angle — delivering 6.2 inches of trail, the longest in Harley's lineup at the time, and a stretched 69.0-inch wheelbase, 4.2 inches longer than the Fat Boy. That geometry carries a massive 240mm rear tire against a genuinely skinny 90mm front, yet Cycle World found turn-in remained smooth and confident at every lean angle. Dry weight comes in around 686-717 lbs depending on source. Production ran from 2008 through 2011.
