Breakout 114 (2018): The Launch Year's Step-Up Engine for "Long, Lean Muscle"

Alongside the standard 107, Harley's all-new 2018 Breakout lineup offered this range-topping 114 for riders wanting genuinely more torque behind the drag-inspired stance. Visordown's first-ride review, testing the 114 specifically, found it made a claimed 92.7 hp and 114 lb-ft of torque, with peak torque arriving at 3,000 rpm and the engine pulling cleanly to just shy of 6,000 — a versatile unit for a bike built around straight-line muscle. According to Harley's own figures, the 114 is 9% faster from 0-60 mph than the 107, and 13% faster in fifth gear from 60-80 mph.

The Milwaukee-Eight 114 runs a 4.016 in. bore and 4.5 in. stroke, with a genuinely reworked chassis underneath — the 2018 model year merged Harley's Dyna and Softail lines into one unified platform, giving the Breakout a Showa Dual Bending Valve fork and new under-seat shock in place of the old dual horizontal shocks. Visordown's testers noted the bike's most immediately noticeable trait is its muscly presence: the huge, flat-profile 240mm rear tire, wide bars, and elongated design all combine for genuine road presence.

A smaller 3.5-gallon fuel tank gave the pro-street cruiser a sleeker look than its predecessor, with a 21-inch front wheel and massive 240mm rear tire on an 18-inch wheel laying down serious rubber. Colors included Vivid Black, Black Tempest, Twisted Cherry, Silver Fortune, and a 114-exclusive Legend Blue Denim. Shipped weight comes in at 648 lbs, with a 25.6-inch laden seat height.
