Breakout 107 (2018): "Long, Lean, Asphalt-Devouring Muscle," Reinvented

Harley's own launch copy for the all-new 2018 Breakout doesn't leave much to interpretation: it "takes the idea of long, lean, asphalt-devouring muscle to the modern edge." This was a genuine ground-up redesign, not a refresh — the 2018 model year merged Harley's Dyna and Softail lines into a single unified platform, and the Breakout's chassis was completely reworked as a result, with a Showa Dual Bending Valve fork and new under-seat shock replacing the old dual horizontal shocks hidden beneath the transmission.

The Milwaukee-Eight 107 delivers a claimed 86 hp and roughly 109 lb-ft of torque, run through a 6-speed gearbox with dual counterbalancing to smooth out the rigidly mounted engine's vibration. A smaller 3.5-gallon fuel tank gave the pro-street cruiser a genuinely sleeker look than the outgoing generation — reduced range wasn't the point on a bike built for straight-line stoplight-to-stoplight runs rather than long hauls, with a 21-inch front wheel and massive 240mm Michelin Scorcher 11 rear tire on an 18-inch wheel laying down a thick strip of rubber.

Styling stays true to the drag-inspired formula: premium craftsmanship with a 3-D tank medallion, chopped fenders, and a slammed console. 2018 colors included Vivid Black, Black Tempest, Twisted Cherry, and Silver Fortune. Shipped weight comes in at 648 lbs, with a 25.6-inch laden seat height. A step-up 114 variant was also available for riders wanting more low-end torque
