Road Glide (2025): The Sharknose Standard Runs the 117, Genuinely Lighter

The Road Glide's signature Sharknose fairing carries forward into 2025 on a platform Harley says has been genuinely reworked, not just carried over: increased displacement, cast wheels, improved aerodynamics, and reduced weight all combine to sharpen handling on a bike Harley itself calls "the standard in bagger performance."

Power comes from the Milwaukee-Eight 117, displacing 117 cubic inches via a 4.075 in. bore and 4.5 in. stroke with a 10.3:1 compression ratio, delivering a claimed 130 lb-ft of torque through electronic sequential port fuel injection and a 2-1-2 dual exhaust with tapered mufflers. Liquid-cooled cylinder heads help the engine manage heat more effectively than earlier air-cooled Milwaukee-Eight units, particularly useful in low-speed traffic or hot-weather riding where touring bikes traditionally struggle most. Asymmetric emulsion shocks allow quick, tool-free suspension adjustment for solo or two-up loads.

The Sharknose fairing itself is engineered specifically to optimize aerodynamics and reduce head buffeting on long rides, working alongside the streamlined windshield to cut rider fatigue on extended trips. A 12.3-inch color TFT touchscreen runs Harley's Skyline OS, delivering navigation and infotainment alongside quick-access ride mode switching and background Rider Safety Enhancements. Dimensions run 94.9 in. long with a 26.6 in. laden seat height, riding on a 130/60B19 front and 180/55B18 rear tire, with a 6-gallon tank and 26-degree rake.
