Road Glide Limited FLTRK (2023): “Built to Chase Horizons,” the Fully Loaded Sharknose Tourer

Harley’s own line on the 2023 Road Glide Limited is that it’s one masterful touring machine built to chase the horizon in style. Adding a Tour-Pak top trunk to the iconic Road Glide turns the popular bagger into a two-up machine. The Sharknose fairing is fixed to the frame, and the trunk is roomy enough for rider and passenger helmets plus travel essentials. It comes with a passenger seat and backrest, heated grips, cruise control, wide floorboards and the infotainment system. A Reflex Defensive Rider System is an optional extra. The 2023 base price was $29,399 in the US, in colours including Prospect Gold over Vivid Black.

Power comes from the Twin-Cooled Milwaukee-Eight 114, a 1,868cc V-twin with liquid-cooled cylinder heads, four valves per cylinder, a 102mm bore, a 114.3mm stroke and a 10.5:1 compression ratio. Torque is about 119-122 lb-ft (about 165 Nm). Drive is through a 6-speed transmission with belt final drive. Coolant capacity is 0.8 quarts, and the oil capacity is about 5 quarts.

Harley’s own figures list a 102.2-inch length, a 36.6-inch width, a 56.1-inch height and a 64-inch wheelbase. Seat height is 27.2 inches laden and 28.9 inches unladen, with 5.1 inches of ground clearance, 26 degrees of rake and 6.7 inches of trail. Tires are Dunlop Harley-Davidson Series, a BW 130/70B18 front and a BW 180/55B18 rear.

The tank holds 6 gallons (22.7 litres) with a 1-gallon reserve. Weight is 897 lbs as shipped and 932 lbs in running order, with a gross vehicle weight rating of 1,360 lbs. Fuel economy is rated at about 43 mpg. The standard Road Glide and the Road Glide Special share the Sharknose design but differ in engine and equipment, so check the model code before ordering parts.

This factory service manual covers the procedures, torque specs, and diagrams needed to keep a 2023 Road Glide Limited FLTRK running the way it was built to.
