Harley Davidson FLSTSB Softail Cross Bones 2010 Service Manual

Harley calls the Cross Bones a raw, stripped-down-and-chopped custom, with a Springer front end and authentic post-war bobber details. The styling is timeless, and the comfort and reliability are modern. For 2010 it gets a new fuel tank sender for accurate fuel-level readings and a new helical-cut fifth gear for improved transmission sound.

Power comes from the rigid-mounted, counter-balanced Twin Cam 96B, an air-cooled 1,584cc V-twin with pushrod-operated overhead valves and hydraulic self-adjusting lifters. It has a 95.25 x 111.25mm bore and stroke and a 9.2:1 compression ratio, fed by Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection. Claimed torque is about 125 Nm (92 lb-ft) at 3,000-3,500 rpm. The gearbox is a 6-speed Cruise Drive with a 9-plate wet clutch and belt final drive. The powertrain is black powder-coated with polished covers, and the exhaust is a deluxe straight-through over/under shotgun with slash-cut mufflers.

The styling is deliberately raw. It has a gloss-black painted Springer front end with chrome springs, laced steel wheels with gloss-black rims, a 200mm rear tire, a black headlamp shell and a chopped front fender. There are gloss-black mini ape-hanger handlebars, a gloss-black cat-eye console, half-moon floorboards with a heel/toe shifter and a rider-adjustable two-position sprung solo seat. There is a bobtail rear fender with black supports, and tribal pinstripe graphics on the tank and fenders.

Dennis Kirk lists an MT90HB-16 front tire, a 200/55VR-17 rear, a 133-tooth 20mm drive belt on 32/66 pulleys, an RA8HC spark plug, an H30292 oil filter and a YTX20L-BS battery. The front brake is a single 292mm disc, and the rear is a single 292mm disc with a two-piston caliper.

Confirmed figures list a 90.5-inch length, a 64.5-inch wheelbase, a 32-32.5-degree rake with 6.3 inches of trail and 4.7-4.9 inches of ground clearance. The tank holds 5 gallons and dry weight is about 700 lbs. The US price was $16,999.
