Heritage Softail Classic 105th Anniversary (2008): Limited to 5,000 Serialized Units

2008 marked Harley-Davidson's 105th anniversary, and the milestone brought a limited-edition, serialized run of the Heritage Softail Classic — one of four models (alongside the Softail Custom, Fat Boy, and Softail Deluxe) to receive the special package that year. Just 5,000 numbered units were built worldwide, each carrying dedicated anniversary badging that's made these bikes genuinely collectible in the years since.

Power comes from the rigid-mounted, counter-balanced 1,584cc Twin Cam 96B, delivering a claimed 92 lb-ft of torque at 3,000 rpm through a 6-speed Cruise Drive transmission and Kevlar/carbon fiber final drive belt, run through a Chrome Staggered Shorty dual exhaust that meets Euro 3 emissions standards. New for this generation were top-mounted battery terminals for easier service access and 25mm hollow front and rear axles, assembled with new bearings and spacers to stiffen the rear swingarm for a more stable, planted feel on the road.

Styling stays true to the touring-cruiser hybrid formula the FLSTC has carried since 1986: a big FL front end with 41.30mm telescopic forks under "beer can" covers, chrome passing lamps, studded leather saddlebags with quick-detach buckles, a detachable King-Size Lexan windshield, and full-length floorboards with heel/toe shift levers. The 105th Anniversary edition added dedicated Chrome Laced Steel wheels (with an optional Chrome Profile Laced Aluminum upgrade), a 5-gallon Fat Bob tank, and a two-piece two-up seat with a detachable passenger pillion and backrest. Front and rear brakes use 11.50-inch floating rotors with 4-piston front and 2-piston rear calipers.
