Softail Slim (2019): "The Classic Bobber Has Been Reborn"

Harley's own tagline for the Softail Slim wastes no words: "the classic bobber has been reborn." It's a stripped-down, souped-up take on the post-WWII bobber look, and by 2019, it carried the power and sound of the Milwaukee-Eight 107 into an unmistakably vintage-styled package. Harley's marketing leans into the contrast deliberately: "tradition has never run stronger" paired with genuinely modern engineering underneath.

The Milwaukee-Eight 107 delivers a 3.937 in. bore and 4.374 in. stroke for 107 cu in (1,746cc) displacement, with a 10.0:1 compression ratio running through electronic sequential port fuel injection and a 2-into-2 shotgun exhaust with catalyst in the muffler. A high-performance rear mono-shock allows for genuinely dynamic cornering while preserving the classic hardtail look the Softail name promises — engineering sophistication hidden behind deliberately old-school styling.

Dimensions run 90.9 in. long with a 30-degree rake, 64.2 in. wheelbase, and a genuinely low 25.5 in. laden seat height (26 in. unladen). It rolls on a 130/90B16 front and 150/80HB16 rear tire, carrying a 5-gallon tank and shipping at 642 lbs (671 lbs in running order). 2019 pricing started at $15,949.
