Freewheeler FLRT (2021): "A Stripped-Down Hot Rod Cruiser With Raw Attitude" — Now on the Milwaukee-Eight 114
By 2021 the Freewheeler had moved past the Twin Cam 103 covered in earlier model years, running the Twin-Cooled Milwaukee-Eight 114 with 118 lb-ft of torque. Harley's own copy leans into the hot rod theme directly: 12-inch Mini-Ape hanger bars, the tallest rise available from the factory, pull the hand controls back toward the rider and reduce the force needed to turn the front wheel, paired with classic bobtail rear fenders and a new Enforcer front wheel matched by two more at the rear.
Power comes from the Milwaukee-Eight 114, a 1,868cc V-twin with pushrod-operated overhead valves, hydraulic self-adjusting lifters, and 4 valves per cylinder, fed by Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection through chrome slash-down pipes, delivering a claimed 118-122 lb-ft of torque (figures vary slightly by source) through a 6-speed transmission. The front brake rotors were redesigned that year specifically to show off more of the premium custom wheel look.
Standard equipment includes Reflex Linked Brembo Brakes with ABS, traction control, cruise control, and reverse, with the Reflex Defensive Rider Systems suite available as an option. A classic-style chrome headlight nacelle sits tucked tight against the frame and forks for a tighter, smaller look and accommodates a clean windshield mounting system, backed by a stiff front end with 49mm forks and a steering damper to control road feedback.
Confirmed dimensions list a 6-gallon fuel tank, a 27.6-inch seat height, 130/60HB-19 front and P205/65R-15 rear tires, and a dry weight of 1,085 lbs. Three colorways were offered that year: Vivid Black, Billiard Teal, and Snake Venom, with US pricing starting at $27,999.
