For 2014, Project Rushmore introduced the biggest engineering leap in Harley's touring history: a partially liquid-cooled engine, the first in the company's production line. Two displacements were built — a 103-cubic-inch version for the Electra Glide Ultra Limited and Tri Glide Ultra, and a 110-cubic-inch version reserved exclusively for the CVO Limited covered here.

Power comes from the Screamin' Eagle Twin-Cooled Twin Cam 110, a 1,801cc V-twin combining air and liquid cooling, with coolant flowing through the cylinder heads around the exhaust valves and out to heat exchangers on each side of the lower fairings. Harley describes the system as a small 1.1-quart precision cooling loop using an electric, thermostatically controlled pump. It delivers a claimed 115 lb-ft of torque through a 6-speed Cruise Drive transmission, and the batwing fairing was completely redesigned around more than 3,000 wind-tunnel test sessions specifically to cut head buffeting without losing its iconic shape.

Standard equipment includes the new Reflex linked ABS, color-matching hard saddlebags and a Tour-Pak luggage carrier, a two-up heated seat with lumbar support for both rider and passenger, passenger armrests, and a 6.5-inch full-color touchscreen infotainment display with a 75-watt-per-channel amplifier and Boom! Audio High Performance speakers.

Confirmed factory dimensions list a 102.4-inch length and a 28.4-inch laden seat height. Built on Harley's single-spar rigid backbone Touring chassis with a stout swingarm developed for long-haul riders and more powerful engines, this was one of eight Project Rushmore models launched that year, and the only one to get the 110-cubic-inch Twin-Cooled engine.
