Electra Glide Ultra Limited FLHTK (2018): The Touring Bike That Has It All, on the Twin-Cooled Milwaukee-Eight 107
Harley’s 2018 pitch for the Ultra Limited is “for the rider who wants it all,” from the powerful Twin-Cooled Milwaukee-Eight 107 right down to the heated hand grips (six settings, on the driver’s side). It has the Batwing fairing, a Tour-Pak carrier, one-touch saddlebags and electronic cruise control, with the premium Boom! Box 6.5GT infotainment system, a 6.5-inch full-color touchscreen with voice activation for hands-free phone, media and navigation, letting rider and passenger ride to any soundtrack. Reflex linked Brembo brakes with ABS provide the stopping power. The 2018 US price was $26,999 plus $435 destination.
The engine is the Twin-Cooled Milwaukee-Eight 107, a 1,746cc V-twin with liquid-cooled cylinder heads, four valves per cylinder and a 10:1 compression ratio, fed by Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection. Torque is about 111-114 lb-ft (150-155 Nm) at 3,250 rpm, power is about 89-90 hp at 5,450 rpm, and Harley lists fuel economy of about 43 mpg. The gearbox is a 6-speed with belt final drive.
The chassis has a 64-inch (1,625mm) wheelbase, with dual front discs and a rear disc. Tires are a Dunlop Multi-Tread 130/80R17 65H at the front and a 180/65R16 81H at the rear. The Ultra Limited is about 102 inches long and about 56.7 inches (1,440mm) high. Seat height is 27.5 inches laden and 29.1 inches (740mm) unladen.
The tank holds 6 gallons (22.7 litres). The Ultra Limited weighs about 877 lbs (398 kg) as shipped and about 910 lbs (413 kg) in running order, with a gross vehicle weight rating of 1,360 lbs.
