CVO Ultra Classic FLHTCUSE3 (2008): 1,802cc of CVO-Exclusive Twin Cam 110, With Standard ABS Years Before It Reached the Rest of the Range

This CVO trim ran genuinely ahead of the standard Ultra Classic sold the same year in one key respect: ABS came standard rather than optional, a real safety upgrade most of Harley's 2008 lineup still offered only as an added-cost extra.

Power comes from the Twin Cam 110 with an integrated oil cooler, an air/liquid-cooled V-twin displacing 1,802cc (109.96 cu in), pushrod-operated overhead valves with hydraulic self-adjusting lifters, a 101.6mm x 111.1mm bore and stroke, and a 9.2:1 compression ratio, fed by Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection (ESPFI), delivering a claimed 115 lb-ft (156 Nm) of torque at 3,750 rpm through a wet multi-plate clutch and 6-speed transmission with belt final drive — a genuinely larger, CVO-exclusive engine than the 1,584cc Twin Cam 96 fitted to the standard-production Ultra Classic that same model year.

The frame uses a mild steel, square-section backbone with twin downtubes, paired with a mild steel rectangular-tube, stamped-junction, MIG-welded swingarm. Suspension consists of 41.3mm telescopic forks offering 116mm of travel up front, and a lowered, air-adjustable rear end. Braking uses dual 300mm front discs with 4-piston calipers and a single 300mm rear disc with a matching 4-piston caliper, both backed by standard ABS, riding on a D408 130/80B17 front tire and a D407 180/65B16 rear tire with 6.6 inches of trail.

Genuine CVO-specific gear ratios reflect the larger-displacement engine: first gear at 9.030, climbing through to 2.706 in sixth — subtly different final-drive spacing from the standard 96-powered Ultra Classic's own ratios, worth knowing before assuming identical gearbox internals across the two engine variants sold the same year.

This factory service manual covers the procedures, torque specs, and diagrams needed to keep a 2008 CVO Ultra Classic FLHTCUSE3 running the way it was built to.
