Electra Glide Standard FLHT (2019): The “Dressed-Down Dresser” Introduced Mid-Year with the Milwaukee-Eight 107
In March 2019 Harley added the Electra Glide Standard to the touring line, calling it a “dressed down dresser” that provides a raw, fundamental riding experience inspired by its Grand American Touring roots. It’s a stripped-down Electra Glide Ultra Classic, for the purist who wants to disconnect from screens and gadgets and enjoy the ride. It keeps the touring essentials: the Batwing fairing with a windshield, standard saddlebags (about 2.3 cubic feet), cast aluminum wheels, floorboards, electronic cruise control, premium low-height hand-adjustable rear shocks, a 49mm Showa Dual Bending Valve fork and Brembo brakes with dual 32mm four-piston front calipers, with Reflex linked brakes and ABS optional. Chrome on the rocker, cam and derby covers emphasizes the engine’s V-twin shape. It came in one color, Vivid Black, at $18,999.
The engine is the Milwaukee-Eight 107, a 1,746cc air/oil-cooled V-twin with pushrod-operated overhead valves, hydraulic self-adjusting lifters and four valves per cylinder. Bore and stroke are 100mm x 111mm (3.937 x 4.375 in), with a 10:1 compression ratio and Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection. Torque is 111 lb-ft (150 Nm) at 3,250 rpm, and power is about 89 hp at 5,450 rpm. Fuel economy is about 43 mpg, and the exhaust is a chrome 2-1-2 dual system with tapered mufflers. The gearbox is a 6-speed with belt final drive, with overall ratios of 9.593 in first, 6.65 in second, 4.938 in third, 4.0 in fourth, 3.407 in fifth and 2.875 in sixth.
The chassis has a 26-degree rake with 6.7 inches (170mm) of trail on a 64-inch (1,625mm) wheelbase, with lean angles of about 31 degrees to the right and 29 to the left. Tires are a 130/80B17 65H at the front and a 180/65B16 81H at the rear. The bike is 94.5 inches (2,400mm) long and 55.1 inches high, with 4.7-4.9 inches of ground clearance. Seat height is 26.1 inches laden and 26.8 inches (680mm) unladen.
The tank holds 6 gallons (22.7 litres), and engine oil capacity is 5.2 quarts (4.9 litres) with the filter. The Standard weighs about 781 lbs (354 kg) as shipped and about 820 lbs (372 kg) in running order, with a gross vehicle weight rating of 1,360 lbs.
This factory service manual covers the procedures, torque specs, and diagrams needed to keep an Electra Glide Standard FLHT running the way it was built to.
