CForce 1000 (2020-2022): Dirt Wheels Magazine's Own Verdict — "Eerily Similar to What We See From Can-Am"

Dirt Wheels Magazine's own hands-on testing of this exact engine platform doesn't mince words: like the rest of the machine, CFMoto's powerplant is eerily similar to what Can-Am offers, running an eight-valve, liquid-cooled, four-stroke V-twin genuinely comparable in architecture to the established market leader.

Power comes from a 962.6cc liquid-cooled V-twin, SOHC with 8 valves, a 10.6:1 compression ratio, fed by Bosch electronic fuel injection, delivering a claimed 67.1-79 hp (figures genuinely climbed across this exact span as CFMoto refined the tune year over year) at 7,000 rpm and roughly 52.4-60 lb-ft of torque at 6,200-6,250 rpm, run through a fully automatic CVTech CVT with Hi/Low range, reverse, and shaft final drive front and rear. A selectable 4x2/4x4 driveline with a standard front differential lock rounds out the drivetrain.

Confirmed factory dimensions for the 2020 configuration list a 94.3-inch length, 49.8-inch width, 55.9-inch height, a 58.3-inch wheelbase, 11.2 inches of ground clearance, and a substantial 30-litre (7.93-gallon) fuel tank. Braking uses double discs at both front and rear wheels. 2020 colorways included Athens Blue, Nebula Black, and True Timber camo finishes.

The pricier Overland trim, introduced alongside the standard model in 2021, added genuine touring-focused equipment on the same fundamental 963cc engine, with 2022 confirmed pricing at $9,999. Dirt Wheels' own real-world testing of this engine and chassis platform found abundant power in low range, though flagged a genuinely touchy throttle response and noted ground clearance needed a preload adjustment from stock to hit the full advertised 11 inches.

This factory service manual covers the procedures, torque specs, and diagrams needed to keep a 2020-2022 CForce 1000 running the way it was built to.
