CFMoto 700CL-X ADV: The Scrambler-Styled Adventure Version of the 700CL-X
The 700CL-X Adventure completes CFMoto’s three-model 700CL-X family, alongside the Heritage and the Sport. CFMoto says it has a scrambler attitude and heightened off-road capability, though it’s a stylish scrambler rather than a serious off-roader, which is the job of the 800MT. It adopts the same chromoly chassis and engine as the others, but adds 10mm of ground clearance, higher and closer-set handlebars, a raised front fender to keep gravel and mud away, a taller touring windscreen, a thicker and flatter scrambler-style seat and built-in pannier racks. It has Street and Off-Road riding modes, electronic cruise control, adaptive automatic LED lighting, self-cancelling LED indicators, a TFT display, a USB port and a T-box for Bluetooth. The Australian price was about $11,990 ride away in Aurora Blue.
Power comes from the family’s 693cc liquid-cooled DOHC parallel-twin, with eight valves, 180-degree crank and Bosch fuel injection. Specifications quoted at launch were about 55 kW (about 73 hp) at 8,500 rpm and 68 Nm at 7,000 rpm, but figures vary by market, so check your bike’s documentation. The gearbox is a 6-speed with a slipper clutch.
The chassis is a chrome-molybdenum frame weighing just 16.5 kg, with an aluminium swingarm. A fully adjustable 41mm KYB inverted fork and a KYB monoshock, adjustable for preload and rebound, both give 150mm of travel. The wheels are tubeless wire-spoked rims, an 18-inch front on a 110/80 Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR and a 17-inch rear on a 170 tire. Earlier previews mentioned a 19-inch front wheel, so confirm which one your bike has. Brakes are a J.Juan four-piston radial caliper on a 300mm single front disc and a single solid rear disc, with Continental dual-channel ABS.
Confirmed figures list an 830mm seat height and about 170mm of ground clearance.
This factory service manual covers the procedures, torque specs, and diagrams needed to keep a CFMoto 700CL-X ADV running the way it was built to.
