ZForce 1000 (2018-2019): CFMoto's Two-Seat Sport UTV Steps Up to a New Heavy-Duty Rear Differential
UTV Planet's own review calls out exactly what changed for 2018: an all-new heavy-duty rear differential joined the ZForce 1000's already-torquey V-twin — a genuinely necessary upgrade, since a weak rear diff paired with strong torque is a recipe for trailside mechanical failure once owners start driving aggressively or fitting bigger tires. That same review found the new differential added real peace of mind for anyone planning to modify the machine down the road.
Power comes from an all-new 962.6cc V-twin, 8-valve, liquid-cooled four-stroke engine with a 91mm x 74mm bore and stroke and a 10.6:1 compression ratio, delivering a claimed 79-80 hp at 7,000 rpm and roughly 60 lb-ft of torque at 6,200 rpm, run through CFMoto's CV-TECH IBC belt-type transmission with primary and secondary dry clutch variable control for consistent power delivery. The ZFORCE 1000 EPS LE steps up to a genuine heavy-duty two- and four-wheel-drive system with an electronic locking rear differential, while electronic power steering keeps low-speed maneuvering genuinely light and easy despite the substantial power on tap.
UTV Planet's testing found the chassis genuinely well-sorted straight from the factory: dual wishbone suspension front and rear with gas-charged shocks offering independent rebound and compression adjustment, delivering 283mm of front travel and 280mm at the rear — smooth, predictable handling the reviewers found held up well across rocks and rutted woods riding alike. As a 60-inch-class machine, the ZForce 1000 actually comes in slightly narrower at 59.4 inches (1,510mm), with an overall length of 113 inches (2,870mm) and an 80.3-inch (2,040mm) wheelbase — longer than Polaris's RZR S line but shorter than the Can-Am Maverick Sport, giving it a genuinely distinct footprint in the sport-UTV class. CFMoto also introduced a new braking system for 2018 with a strong, confident pedal feel calibrated specifically not to overpower the suspension under hard braking. Ground clearance sits at 310mm, with a 610kg curb weight and 27-litre fuel tank, riding on 27-inch tires mounted to 14-inch alloy wheels. Worth noting for anyone sourcing suspension parts: the 2019 model uses larger shock bodies than 2018, switching from single to dual springs — a genuine running change between these two model years that affects aftermarket component fitment.
This factory service manual covers the procedures, torque specs, and diagrams needed to keep a 2018-2019 ZForce 1000 running the way it was built to.
