Spyder RT/RT-S (2010-2012): Can-Am's Genuine Three-Wheeled Touring Flagship, Introduced 2010

Motorcycle.com's own confirmed data lists 2010 as the RT platform's introduction year, positioning it as Can-Am's dedicated long-haul reverse trike sitting above the smaller RS in the lineup. A real owner testimonial collected on Motorcycle.com confirms genuine crash safety on this platform: after being struck by a car at an intersection, "the wrecker had to pick the car up before we could move the motorcycle... she didn't get a scratch" — with the responding officer calling it "a tough bike."

Power comes from a 998cc liquid-cooled Rotax V-twin, DOHC with 4 valves per cylinder, delivering a claimed 100 hp at 7,500 rpm and 100-108 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm depending on model year, run through either a 5-speed manual (SM5) or 5-speed semi-automatic (SE5) transmission, both with reverse. Autoevolution's own confirmed spec sheet notes a genuine torque increase between the 2010-2011 RT-S (104 Nm) and the 2011-2012 configuration (108 Nm) — a real running change worth knowing when comparing model years within this range.

The RT-S trim adds genuine equipment over the base RT: electronically adjustable rear air suspension with auto-leveling, aluminum six-spoke wheels in Dark Mist Gray finish, chrome trim, two additional rear speakers with independent passenger audio controls, fog lamps, LED running lights, and a front cargo light and liner. A range-topping RT Limited variant layers on a handlebar-mounted Garmin Zumo 660 color touchscreen GPS with Bluetooth, four semi-rigid travel bags, and a full travel cover.

Standard across the whole RT family: the Roadster Electronic Command Center (RECC), a 12V rear cargo power outlet, and a trailer lock accepting Can-Am's own RT-622 optional trailer. Motorcycle.com's own confirmed 2012 pricing lists $21,699 for the base RT and $25,699 for the RT-S. This exact 2010-2012 configuration ran ahead of Can-Am's continued RT updates in 2013 and beyond.

This factory service manual covers the procedures, torque specs, and diagrams needed to keep a 2010-2012 Spyder RT/RT-S running the way it was built to.
