Unfortunately for Arctic Cat dealers, fans, and the company itself, they've been on the sidelines for approximately half that time, with a lineup that was severely whittled down after the Textron takeover."

Power comes from a Yamaha-sourced 998cc inline-three, DOHC with 4 valves, liquid-cooled, fed by EFI, delivering a claimed 130 hp — genuinely no turbo, which ATV Illustrated's own testing confirmed is no real handicap: "it does not feature a turbo but we don't miss it." That same review confirms genuine race-car-derived chassis engineering: "High Strength Steel chassis built for performance. The chassis is strong but also light, and it bolts together in three sections, front, middle, and rear. The roll cage is built like an aftermarket cage from the factory," with the engine isolated from the chassis by a rubber mounting system specifically to protect it from bottom-out impacts.

The range-topping SE/LTD trims run FOX 2.5 Podium QS3 shocks with bottom-out control and a lower low-gear transaxle ratio for genuine off-road-racing-inspired suspension geometry, riding on 30-inch Behemoth tires and 15-inch wheels for 14 inches of ground clearance.
