Tuono V4 1100 Factory (2021-2024): "More Threat Than Daring" — Aprilia's Naked Superbike, Now With the RS 660's New Identity
MCN's own long-term review calls this bike "one of the best!", noting it has "fought off relentless attacks from its ever-improving rivals, but it's remained numero uno." Motoplanete's own review confirms this 2021 update was directly inspired by Aprilia's smaller RS 660: "initiated by the mutinous RS 660, Aprilia's new identity has invaded all the leading models in record time." MCN's own model timeline confirms this exact generation brought "new styling, Euro5 tweaks, revised electronic rider aids, new colour dash, and underbraced swingarm" over the previous version.
Power comes from a 1,077cc liquid-cooled 65-degree longitudinal V4, DOHC with 4 valves per cylinder and ride-by-wire, delivering a claimed 175 hp at 11,350 rpm and roughly 89 lb-ft (121 Nm) of torque at 9,000 rpm through a 6-speed gearbox. Cycle World's own account confirms this exact generation didn't get the larger engine that arrived on the RSV4 sportbike the same year, but did pick up "minor improvements to the valve train and exhaust" extending the rev range 300 rpm further, plus a new Marelli 11MP ECU with six-axis IMU running a more advanced APRC electronics suite.
The Factory trim gets Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 semi-active suspension at both ends, forged aluminum wheels, and an Öhlins electronic steering damper — genuine premium hardware over the standard Tuono's fully-adjustable Sachs suspension. Motoplanete's own review confirms the full electronics suite: traction control, up/down quickshifter, active cornering ABS, anti-wheelie, anti-stoppie, launch control, pit-lane speed limiter, and cruise control, plus adaptive cornering LED headlights.
Torquepedia's own confirmed specs list a 32.9-inch seat height and 460.8 lbs wet weight. Cycle World's own confirmed 2024 pricing lists $19,599-$20,099 for the Factory depending on colorway, with a genuinely limited SE-09 SBK edition adding carbon front fender and brake caliper cooling intakes. This exact configuration ran through 2024 with only colorway changes across the range.
This factory service manual covers the procedures, torque specs, and diagrams needed to keep a 2021-2024 Tuono V4 1100 Factory running the way it was built to.
