Introduced in 2017 as a naked sibling to the RS125, the Tuono 125 wasn't content to just borrow the RS's mechanicals and call it a day — Aprilia's designers deliberately mirrored the styling language of the flagship 1100 V4 Tuono, right down to an aggressive stance, an angular tank, and a tail section that wouldn't look out of place on Aprilia's MotoGP paddock. For riders restricted to A1 licensing, it offered genuine sportbike attitude in a fully legal package.

Power comes from a 124.2cc liquid-cooled DOHC 4-valve single, Euro 4 compliant, delivering a claimed 15 hp at 10,500-10,750 rpm and around 8.3 lb-ft of torque, run through a 6-speed gearbox with an optional accessory quick-shifter. The engine thrives on revs, pulling cleanly from 6,000 rpm through to its 11,500 rpm redline, with a balancer shaft keeping vibration low enough for genuinely fatigue-free longer rides. Aprilia tucked the exhaust beneath the engine for better mass centralization, which also gives the bike a cleaner look from either side.

The aluminum perimeter frame is a genuine standout for the class — structural engineering that's rare in 125cc naked bikes, more commonly associated with proper sportbikes several classes up. Styling details include a triple-LED headlight cluster, a mini fly screen, a black swingarm, and a pillion-friendly one-piece seat with underseat storage room for small items. The steel subframe and a relatively small 10-litre tank are among the trade-offs reviewers note against the otherwise premium feel.
