Nightster RH975 (2025): The Base Model Gets the 975T Engine, 60% More Rear Suspension Travel, and Silver 14-Spoke Wheels
Harley's own March 2025 announcement leads with the suspension change. The revised front and rear suspension gives a 60% increase in rear wheel travel without raising the seat height, and both ends are fully adjustable for compression and rebound damping and preload. In 2024 the base Nightster ran the plain Revolution Max 975 at 90 hp. For 2025 it uses the 975T, so a 2024 engine part is not guaranteed to fit a 2025 bike.
Power comes from the Revolution Max 975T, a liquid-cooled 60-degree V-twin with DOHC, four valves per cylinder, hydraulic self-adjusting lifters and intake variable valve timing. It has a 3.82-inch (97mm) bore, 2.6-inch (66mm) stroke and 12:1 compression ratio, fed by Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection through a 2-into-1 exhaust with the catalyst in the header. Output is 91 hp (68 kW) at 7,500 rpm and 71.5-72 lb-ft (97 Nm) of torque at 5,750 rpm, through a 6-speed transmission with belt final drive. The whole powertrain gets an all-black finish this year.
Styling changes include 14-spoke silver cast aluminum wheels in place of the earlier 7-spoke black cast wheels, a new vintage-inspired tank medallion and full LED lighting. Confirmed running gear lists a 41mm fork, a 100/90-19 front tire, a 150/80B16 rear, a 178-tooth 24mm drive belt on 34/80 pulleys, an E186759SDS spark plug, a 3003506 oil filter and a YTX14L-BS battery. Braking is a single 320mm floating front rotor with a 4-piston caliper and a 260mm rear rotor with a floating single-piston caliper, with ABS.
Confirmed dimensions list an 88.6-inch length, a 60.8-inch wheelbase, a 27.1-inch laden seat height (27.8 inches unladen), 4.3 inches of ground clearance, a 30-degree rake, 5.4 inches of trail and 32 degrees of lean in each direction. The tank holds 3.1 gallons including a 0.8-gallon reserve. Oil capacity is 4.75 quarts with the filter, coolant capacity is 2.22 quarts, and weight is 481 lbs in running order. US pricing started around $10,749 in Whiskey Fire.
