Softail Standard: A Blank Canvas Built Around the Milwaukee-Eight 107

Harley pitched the Softail Standard as the platform's most minimal expression — no windscreen, no saddlebags, nothing to distract from the classic Softail lines. Chopped fenders, mini-ape handlebars, spoked wheels, and a low-slung solo saddle strip the styling back to essentials, with a smooth-top fuel tank and a 2-into-2 offset shotgun exhaust with chrome shields giving it a long, low profile.

The Milwaukee-Eight 107 runs a 100mm x 111mm bore and stroke, 1,746cc displacement, and a 10.0:1 compression ratio, delivering a claimed 107 lb-ft of torque at 3,000 rpm through electronic sequential port fuel injection. A 6-speed gearbox with belt final drive puts power down, while a racing-style cartridge fork up front and an adjustable mono-shock rear keep the ride composed without giving up that hardtail silhouette.

Dimensions run 91.3 in. long with a 64.2 in. wheelbase and a 25.8 in. laden seat height — genuinely low and easy to manage. It rolls on a narrower-than-usual 100/90B19 front paired with a 150/80B16 rear, carries a 3.5-gallon tank, and ships at 642 lbs. 2021 pricing started at $13,599 in Vivid Black, making it one of the more accessible entry points into the Softail range.
