Street Bob 114: The Lightest Softail Gets Harley's Biggest Standard Engine
The 2021 Street Bob 114 was one of the year's genuine new offerings from Harley-Davidson, and it earned its "114" badge honestly — this is the lightest bike in the entire Softail lineup, yet it comes standard with the largest Milwaukee-Eight engine H-D fits to that frame. Dropping the bigger 114 into the stripped-down Bob chassis wasn't just a spec bump either: Harley claimed a 9% quicker 0-60 time and a 13% jump in 60-80 mph roll-on speed over the outgoing 107-powered model.
Power comes from the Milwaukee-Eight 114 V-twin, running a 45-degree cylinder angle, dual counter-balancers to tame vibration, four-valve heads, and dual spark plugs, with a 10.0:1 compression ratio and a claimed 119 ft-lb of torque at 3,000 rpm. Dry weight sits at a claimed 659 lbs — light for a bike this size, and part of why the extra torque is so noticeable.
Styling stays true to the minimalist Bob formula: chopped fenders, mini-ape handlebars, a smooth-top 3.5-gallon tank, black steel laced wheels, and a blacked-out engine set off by bright chrome pushrod tubes. The Ventilator air cleaner sits exposed with 114 badging on show. Standard tech includes digital instrumentation, keyless ignition, USB charging, and a security system. 2021 pricing started at $14,999 for Vivid Black, with Baja Orange, Deadwood Green, and Stone Washed White Pearl available for $400 more.
Bobber-style customs get ridden hard and modified often — this factory manual has the torque specs, wiring diagrams, and procedures to keep a Street Bob 114 running right through both.
